YOGI emerged on World Environment Day in 2020, inspired by a shared vision among young environmentalists who believed that youth leadership could transform India’s environmental response. What began as local action around river conservation and community development in Jalgaon has grown into a multi-dimensional youth-led organization working across climate education, ecological restoration, policy research, rural development, and plastic reduction.
Our journey has been shaped by real community challenges, river ecosystems, tribal villages, schools, and young people seeking meaningful ways to act on climate change. Over time, YOGI has evolved into a platform that supports youth leadership, fosters community ownership, strengthens institutional partnerships, and builds long-term environmental solutions.
We continue to grow with a commitment to staying grounded in communities while contributing to larger environmental conversations and solutions.
Young people lead design, decision-making, and implementation.
We protect rivers, forests, and ecosystems with long-term responsibility.
Climate work with attention to gender justice and vulnerable communities.
Solutions are co-created with communities for long-term sustainability.
We democratise access to research, data, and learning.
We experiment, learn, adapt, and evolve with environmental realities.
